VCC’s 2009 year end event

VCC’s 2009 year events came to an end with Nov 14th "Children’s Day" celebrations, it was a great year for VCC, that was started as a cricket club and slowly transitioned to a small friends community in southern California. VCC is organizing several cultural activities and picnics along with 2 prestigious cricket “Summer” and “Winter” cup tournaments.
On Nov 14th in memory of our beloved late Indian Prime Minister and freedom fighter Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday (Children’s Day) VCC organized Picnic / Sports / Family event. This event included games for whole family (Kids, ladies, & Gents), Ladies Cricket was the highlight of the evening, VCC ladies brought their unknown hidden talent out, scoring 53 runs in 10 over’s, some unbelievable catches surprised everyone which where competitive to gents, Kudos to ladies of VCC. It was a friendly atmosphere with nice southern California weather. Kids and everyone enjoyed the games and food.

Suresh Akunuru congratulated all the winners and participants. And thanked everyone for their efforts and time across the year of 2009 and also promised that VCC would like to do more of these types of events in the coming future. Special Thanks to the Ladies and Kids for making the Event very successful. Special Thanks to Vasu Vavilala, Naren K, Madhu B, Shiva V, Ravi Allam, Sudhakar R, Killada Srinivas, Ashish J, Sri Ram Akunuru and everyone who directly or indirectly helped the event to go smooth with flying colors.

Special Thanks to Smt & Sri B T N Chowdary garu for distributing the awards to the winners and the participants. Thanks to Smt & Sri Rattaiah Arudula garu, Smt Lalitha garu and Smt Kausalya Garu for their gracious presence and for their blessings to the event.

2009 was a great year for VCC with so many friends and families added to the group. VCC is looking forward for another fabulous year filled with events, picnics, tournaments and many more activities.
